Rat Game has several hats that you can unlock by completing different tasks, winning matches, and exploring hidden areas. Some hats are given to you from the start, while others require you to play as a Rat or Chef and complete specific objectives.
In this guide, I show you how to unlock all hats in Rat Game, including the default hats and those earned by completing specific tasks.
All Default Hats in Rat Game
You get the first four hats automatically. You don’t need to complete any tasks to use them.

All Unlockable Hats in Rat Game
The remaining hats require you to complete specific tasks. Some are easy to obtain, while others require you to explore the map or win a match.
1. Wizard Hat
Unlock requirement: Complete the Haunted Tape task and light the candles.
To get the Wizard Hat, complete the Haunted Tape task first. After that, find a lighter and use it to light the candles on the table in front of the TV.
You can find several lighters around the map. I found one in the kitchen, underneath the counters to the left of the office entrance when leaving the office.
2. Hardhat
Unlock requirement: Complete the Storage Room wire task.
Play as a Rat and head to the Storage Room. Find the task where you need to cut wires in the correct order.
Complete the wire-cutting task to unlock the Hardhat.
3. Chef Hat
Unlock requirement: Win a match as the Chef.
This is one of the two hats that require you to play as the Chef. Simply win a match while playing as the Chef to receive the Chef Hat.
4. Frog Hat
Unlock requirement: Find the hidden room in the lobby.
You can unlock the Frog Hat before starting a match. Look for a hole in the ceiling of the lobby and climb through it.
Once inside, climb the shelves and other objects until you reach another hole in the ceiling. Enter the next room, and the Frog Hat will unlock.
5. Fedora
Unlock requirement: Complete the hacking task as a Rat.
Play as a Rat and go to the office. Use the computer to complete the hacking task, which involves solving math questions.
Be careful when entering your answers. Each input makes a noise that the Chef can hear from anywhere on the map. Hide nearby if you think the Chef is coming.
6. Propeller Cap
Unlock requirement: Fall from a high place and get stunned when you land.
Find a tall bookshelf or cabinet and climb to the top. Jump down from a great height and let your Rat get stunned after landing.
You can also unlock this hat in the lobby. Climb to the top of the shelves and jump down to complete the requirement.
7. Magician’s Hat
I am unsure about how I unlocked the Magician’s Hat. But I remember that I need to let the Chef or RoboChef spot me and then disappear to unlock this cap.
8. Bow
Unlock requirement: Win against the Chef as a Rat.
Play as a Rat and win a match against the Chef to unlock the Bow.
It only counts when playing against a human-controlled Chef rather than the RoboChef.
9. Cowboy Hat
Unlock requirement: Pick up and hold the gun as a Rat.
Find a gun while playing as a Rat and pick it up to unlock the Cowboy Hat.
The gun can usually be found in these locations:
- Office
- Kitchen
- Storage Room
Its location may change between matches, so check these areas if you can’t find it.
10. Helmet
Unlock requirement: Shoot a Rat with a gun as the Chef.
This is the second hat that requires you to play as the Chef.
Pick up a gun while playing as the Chef and shoot a Rat. Completing this action unlocks the Helmet. It also counts toward an achievement.
11. Police Hat
Unlock requirement: Call the number from the entrance flyer as a Rat.
Play as a Rat and find the flyer lying on the ground near the entrance. The flyer contains a phone number that you need to call.
Next, head to the hearth and use the phone. Enter the following number:
PHONE NUMBER: 1800737678
Once you complete the call, you will receive the Police Hat.
12. Burglar Hat
Unlock requirement: Open the hidden Cheese Vault.
Start by going to the office. Find the bookshelf with a light blue book and interact with it.
This will activate a hidden mechanism that moves a bookshelf in the entrance area, revealing the Cheese Vault behind it.
Opening the hidden vault unlocks the Burglar Hat.
13. Drink Hat
Unlock requirement: Get drunk by using the beer taps as a Rat.
Play as a Rat and find the task where you need to empty the beer taps.
Once the beer starts flowing, press E on it several times. Keep interacting with the flowing beer until your Rat gets drunk.
You may need to press E around 10 times. Completing this task will unlock the Drink Hat.
